Soft grey light all day today, with mild air moving in from the S with a settled glass. Expect most activity at 7e Lac around the weed line and any gaps in it. The morning should out-fish the rest of the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

In Quebec, 7e Lac belongs to Lanaudière. Country round the bank runs to lake country bush. At some 1.29 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. With 9.1 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It ranks high for size among our Lanaudière listings. Start from Chertsey, 9.2 km down the road. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 48 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Lanaudière records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout among the fish reported. The county list is broader than any single water. At this water light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Averages move between -13°C in January and 19°C in July. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Time your trip to this water by conditions rather than dates.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. For a change of water, Lac Cyrille is 0.8 km distant. Where this water is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
