Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with a gentle ripple from the SW and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Upper Stull Lake will be around the seam between weed and open water. The strongest window is the evening. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Look for Upper Stull Lake in the Timiskaming District part of Ontario. The water sits 437 metres up. At about 23 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 3.2 km of margin, front to back. It sits higher than most water we list in Ontario. Some 73 km away sits Capreol, the nearest settlement. For a city, Greater Sudbury is 97 km off. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Timiskaming District include brook trout, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Upper Stull Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -16°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. The season on Upper Stull Lake follows the weather closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Step Lake at 1.1 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Upper Stull Lake in what we hold.
