Soft grey light all day today, with a light chop building from the W and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Trailer Lake is structure within a cast of the bank. Quiet conditions all day, with the morning marginally better. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Trailer Lake belongs to Sudbury, Ontario. Beyond the shoreline you have rolling bush. The water measures roughly 8 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. On size it sits at the modest end of our Sudbury list. The closest town, Capreol, is 49 km distant. Beyond it, Valley East at 56 km and Rayside-Balfour at 62 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Public occurrence data for Sudbury names smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter and walleye. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. On Trailer Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Anyone fishing Trailer Lake regularly works to that calendar.
No access rule appears in what we hold. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Failing this one, try Bus Lake, 2.2 km away. Signs at Trailer Lake carry more weight than any list.
