Heavy overcast holding through the day, with calm air over the water with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Sirola Lake around reed fringes and open pockets. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

The Timiskaming District end of Ontario holds Sirola Lake. The surface lies 361 metres up. Roughly 37 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Around 3.6 km of margin, front to back. 67 km away sits Timmins, the nearest town. Kirkland Lake is 80 km away, with Englehart at 88 km. Close by you also have: Mac Lake within 0.6 km, Silverbirch Lake after 0.9 km, Frank Lake within 1 km, Patricia Lake after 1 km and Weary Lake within 1.5 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Public occurrence data for Timiskaming District names brook trout, northern pike, yellow perch and Iowa darter. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Sirola Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -17°C in January. Winter shuts the surface down for months. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Sirola Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Mac Lake at 0.6 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Sirola Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
