A closed sky with even light today, with hardly a ripple anywhere and pressure going nowhere. On Weary Lake, work any hard bottom among the soft first. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Ontario holds Weary Lake, in Timiskaming District. Height above sea level is 356 metres. With some 31 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 2.7 km, and most of it is walkable. Head to Timmins, 67 km away, for anything you forgot. The nearest city of size is Greater Sudbury, 156 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. County-wide records name brook trout, northern pike and yellow perch. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Weary Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -17°C in January. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. That shapes the year on Weary Lake.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Bess Lake is 0.9 km off. What applies at Weary Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
