Dull, settled light over the water, with a kind W breeze on the water with a settled glass. Start the search at Rosa Lake along structure within a cast of the bank. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Rosa Lake is an Algoma water, in Ontario. The land about it is taiga. Around 25 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. With about 2.8 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. Wawa at 50 km is the nearest place to stop. Hornepayne lies 95 km off, Chapleau another 99 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name walleye, northern pike and Iowa darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Read Rosa Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. On Rosa Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Picnic facilities are recorded some 220 m out. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Florence Lake at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. The position on Rosa Lake is worth confirming on the day.
