A crisp, open sky after dark, with a persistent wind from the W with the glass holding level. On Connors Lake, work the shallows early and the drop later first. The strongest window runs from the day. Keep expectations modest and fish carefully. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Connors Lake lies within the bounds of Lanark County, Ontario. The ground around here is mixed forest. At 7 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Nearest place of any size is Perth, 34 km away. Nepean is the closest city, 75 km away. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth bass and bluegill. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Read Connors Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
Average temperature peaks around 19°C in July and bottoms out near -11°C in January. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid April. Open water usually runs from mid April until about early December. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Connors Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Should this one be busy, Pigeon Lake is 2.5 km off. None of that is settled for Connors Lake in what we hold.
