No direct sun expected today, with enough SW wind to stack food downwind and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Chibiabos Lake are likely to sit near bays that hold the day's warmth. Little to get excited about, though the morning holds a sliver of promise. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

Parry Sound District, Ontario, is where Chibiabos Lake sits. Elevation runs to 455 metres. It runs to roughly 16 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. There is roughly 3.0 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Compared with other Ontario water on our list, it sits high. Supplies mean a trip to South River, 28 km off. Powassan is 39 km and Huntsville 49 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Parry Sound District include smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, yellow perch and northern pike. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Chibiabos Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -13°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Chibiabos Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows a campsite some 140 m from the water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. For a change of water, Kwonishi Lake is 0.6 km distant. None of that is settled for Chibiabos Lake in what we hold.
