Dull, settled light over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the NW with the barometer flat. Activity on Adelaide Lake should centre on any hard bottom among the soft. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet.

Adelaide Lake is a Newfoundland and Labrador water, Newfoundland and Labrador side. The ground around here is northern bush. Some 59 km of shoreline means conditions can differ from one end to the other. On our Newfoundland and Labrador list it sits near the top for size. Start from Labrador City, 259 km down the road. After that come Wabush at 261 km and Nain at 262 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On Adelaide Lake a short move beats a long cast. It goes down as a lake on the record.
Climate records put July near 12°C and January near -24°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early June. The season between ice runs from about early June to late October. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Plan around that when you fish Adelaide Lake.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Should this one be busy, Lac Hubbard is 7.4 km off. Nothing on Adelaide Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
