Poor visibility with fog on the water, with a light chop building from the SSW and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Queens Lake will be around the seam between weed and open water. A hard day on paper; the evening edges the rest. Lower the pace and stay patient. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Queens Lake is a Queens County water, New Brunswick side. It lies 162 metres above sea level. It measures some 1.68 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. There is roughly 8.3 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. Size puts it in the front rank of our Queens County list. For supplies, Grand Bay-Westfield is 15 km out. The big place round here is Dartmouth, 238 km distant. A county line runs close by, so local bylaws can differ within a short drive.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Queens County include yellow perch, alewife and pumpkinseed. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Queens Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Averages move between -10°C in January and 18°C in July. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid April. The water is typically free of ice between mid April and early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan any trip to Queens Lake around it.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Mud Lake, 1.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback.
