Fresh rain topping the water up today, with dead-still conditions with the barometer flat. On Tretheway Lake, work the first drop-off and weed lines first. A tough forecast; the middle of the day offers the only real chance. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Night
Tretheway Lake lies in Fraser Valley Regional District, British Columbia. The ground round it is pine and birch. Roughly 31 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The whole outline is near 2.6 km, and most of it is walkable. Start from Yennadon, 49 km down the road. Burke Mountain is 51 km and Harrison Hot Springs 51 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Records held for Fraser Valley Regional District cover white sturgeon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, Chum salmon and Chinook salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Tretheway Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
The year swings from about -5°C in January to roughly 13°C in August. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Tretheway Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Kinnear Lake, 6.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Tretheway Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
