Showers crossing the water today, with a gentle ripple from the SSW and no real change in pressure. On Phyllis Lake, work windblown banks where food collects first. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the morning. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Phyllis Lake is one of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District listings for British Columbia. The surface lies 476 metres up. This is a pocket water of some 6 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Lions Bay lies 12 km from the water. Squamish is 17 km and Horseshoe Bay 21 km. Being near a boundary, it pays to know which side you are fishing.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Squamish-Lillooet Regional District records list Coho salmon, sockeye salmon, rainbow trout and Chinook salmon among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Phyllis Lake the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
August is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 14°C, while January sits near -1°C. Conditions shift steadily rather than sharply. It is not guaranteed from one year to the next. June to September is hot work, so the first and last hours are what count. Expect Phyllis Lake to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Marion Lake at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. Where Phyllis Lake is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
