Solid cloud cover today, with a proper ripple driven from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Mill Lake will be around the seam between weed and open water. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Mill Lake is a Fraser Valley Regional District water, British Columbia side. The coast is 32 km away. With some 16 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 1.8 km, and most of it is walkable. It lies lower than most water we list in British Columbia. For supplies, Marshall-McCallum is 1 km out. South Clearbrook is 1.4 km away, with Historic Downtown at 1.5 km. Two sets of local rules meet not far from this water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Reported across Fraser Valley Regional District: white sturgeon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, Chum salmon and Chinook salmon. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Mill Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Averages here run 19°C at the top of summer and 3°C at the bottom of winter. Cooler months are the productive ones on most of this water. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. Time your trip to Mill Lake by conditions rather than dates.
We hold no note on access for this one. Launching is possible: a slipway lies 240 m off. Public data has parking about 240 m from the shore. There is a pier recorded roughly 200 m away. There is a recorded fishing site some 200 m from here. A picnic spot sits 630 m from the bank. Facilities include toilets around 220 m from here. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Laxton Lake at 5.1 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Mill Lake in what we hold.
