Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a consistent blow out of the WSW with the glass holding level. Glen Lake should fish best around the shallows early and the drop later today. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Glen Lake is one of the Regional District of Central Okanagan waters in British Columbia. It stands 1,143 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 9 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Nearest town is Peachland, 15 km off. Then Glenrosa, 22 km, and Gellatly, 25 km. Others worth noting: Island Lake 2.8 km off, 3.4 km out stands Little Eneas Lake, Chapman Lake 5.3 km off, 5.5 km out stands Peachland Lake and Munro Lake 7.7 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Regional District of Central Okanagan include sockeye salmon, rainbow trout and common carp. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Glen Lake the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
In an average year August sits at 14°C and December at -7°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid usually goes in mid April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Break-up near mid April, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Glen Lake.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Island Lake sits 2.8 km off and takes the overflow. For Glen Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
