Little Eneas Lake stands in Regional District of Central Okanagan, British Columbia. The bank is 1,558 metres above sea level. Small at around 6 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Compared with other British Columbia water on our list, it sits high. Nearest town is Peachland, 13 km off. Glenrosa is 22 km and Gellatly 24 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Regional District of Central Okanagan list sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, common carp, largescale sucker and goldfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Little Eneas Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
The year swings from about -7°C in December to roughly 14°C in August. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near mid April. Expect the water usable from around mid April until roughly mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan any trip to Little Eneas Lake around it.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Eneas Lakes Provincial Park takes in this water; protected-area rules will apply. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Island Lake, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Little Eneas Lake locally before you travel.
