Full sun on the water today, with stillness over the whole water and no real change in pressure. Give the seam between weed and open water the first hour at Andrew Lake. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Andrew Lake is set in Thompson-Nicola Regional District, British Columbia. Elevation runs to 1,611 metres. With some 11 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 1.3 km, and most of it is walkable. By elevation it is in the upper part of our British Columbia listings. Logan Lake lies 13 km from the water. Beyond it, Dufferin at 23 km and Aberdeen at 24 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Thompson-Nicola Regional District: Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon and Coho salmon. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Read Andrew Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Typical August readings run about 13°C; by December the average is down near -7°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from late April until about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Expect Andrew Lake to follow that timing.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Roper Lake, 1.7 km away. Confirm access to Andrew Lake locally before you travel.
