Open sky and sharp air tonight, with calm air over the water and no real change in pressure. Activity on Prill Lake should centre on inflow corners and shaded margins. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Spring water is still waking up, so the shallows warm first.

You will find Prill Lake in Balranald, New South Wales. It lies 57 metres above sea level. It measures some 4.04 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. Robinvale is the closest town at 11 km. Red Cliffs follows at 51 km, then Nichols Point at 56 km. Others worth noting: Dry Lake just 18 km, Lake Benanee out at 21 km, Lake Cantala just 22 km, Lake Powell out at 26 km and Lake Bitterang just 28 km. The county edge is within a short distance of the bank.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records collected within a few miles name common carp, golden perch, silver perch and goldfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Prill Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
The year swings from about 10°C in July to roughly 24°C in January. The whole calendar is open, with dawn and dusk the productive hours in summer. Summer, December to February, brings heat, so fish the early and late hours. The shoulder seasons either side of summer are the ones to aim for. Time your trip to Prill Lake by conditions rather than dates.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Carp respond to sweetcorn or boilies fished patiently on the bottom near feeding areas. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. If the gate is shut, Dry Lake at 18 km is the nearest alternative. Treat access at Prill Lake as something to verify.
