No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with a gentle ripple from the NE with the glass holding level. The productive water at Lake Benanee will be around sheltered bays and points. The useful hours run night into morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. The season is young; the warm corners hold the life.

Lake Benanee lies within the bounds of Balranald, New South Wales. Country round the bank runs to warm green lowland. Surface area runs to roughly 7.36 sq km, so plan for one area rather than the whole. Some 10 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Robinvale is the closest place, 11 km off. Balranald follows at 63 km, then Red Cliffs at 68 km. The boundary is close enough to be worth checking before you fish.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. At Lake Benanee light and wind decide more than tackle does. Work slowly along one feature rather than covering ground.
Expect February to average close to 24°C, with July the cold end at about 10°C. Every month fishes, though midsummer narrows the useful hours. Spring runs September to November and autumn March to May, and both fish well. Early spring brings the water on quickly here. Expect Lake Benanee to follow that timing.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Dry Lake at 3.4 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing on Lake Benanee should be assumed from this page alone.
