A closed sky with even light today, with dead-still conditions and pressure leaking away. Give reed fringes and open pockets the first hour at Anchor Lake. A long productive spell runs night into morning. Make the first hour count and build on it. A cold snap day, so work the warmest water you can find.

Night
The Wasatch County entry here is Anchor Lake, in Utah. The ground round it is pine and birch. At 15 acres it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Kamas lies 15 miles from the water. Oakley lies 15 miles off, Francis another 16 miles. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout. The approach is plain, and a car park is not always part of it.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Species logged across Wasatch County include brown trout, rainbow trout, brook trout, black-spotted cutthroat trout and Utah sucker. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Anchor Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
Typical July readings run about 56°F; by December the average is down near 19°F. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late May. Averages place the thaw at late May and the freeze at mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Anchor Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Adax Lake at 0.9 miles is the sensible second choice. For Anchor Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
