Drifting cloud with clear gaps tonight, with next to no ripple with the glass on the way up. The water to cover at Lake Erie is the shallows early and the drop later. A long productive spell runs morning through afternoon. Make the first hour count and build on it. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lake Erie in the Meeker County part of Minnesota. The surface lies 1,099 feet up. With some 185 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Bank access stretches around 2.3 miles in total. Dassel sits 7.4 miles from here and is the nearest stop. Hutchinson lies 8.9 miles off, Litchfield another 9.6 miles. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
The charted maximum sits at about 29 feet. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Meeker County include largemouth bass, walleye and northern pike. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lake Erie light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The range across the year is 11°F to 72°F. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early April. Ice usually gives way near early April, and forms again about late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. On Lake Erie the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. The nearest car park we can see is half a mile out, so expect a walk with your gear. Toilets show in mapping about half a mile away. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Failing this one, try Eighty Acre Lake, 1.7 miles away. For Lake Erie, the notice at the access point is the final word.
