Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a steady NW wind with the glass on the way up. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Frog Lake. A grinding day likely, with the morning worth the effort if any is. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Within Lake County, Minnesota, you have Frog Lake. Elevation runs to 1,394 feet. At about 50 acres, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The whole outline is near 1.3 miles, and most of it is walkable. You are 26 miles from Ely. Babbitt is 36 miles away, with Atikokan at 50 miles. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Lake County list white sucker, yellow perch, northern pike and rainbow trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Frog Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate normals give 65°F for July and 4°F for January. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Frog Lake.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Facilities include toilets around half a mile from here. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. State or provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Trident Lake, 0.6 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Frog Lake carry more weight than any list.
