Flat light and a covered sky today, with a gentle ripple from the SE and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lake Brooks should centre on reed fringes and open pockets. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lake Brooks is one of the Rockdale County waters in Georgia. The country round it is pine and hardwood from end to end. With some 36 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. A shoreline of some 1.1 miles keeps the choices simple. On our Rockdale County list it sits near the top for size. The nearest place of any size is Lakeview Estates, 4.6 miles away. Conyers follows at 5.8 miles, then Walnut Grove at 6.2 miles. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A reservoir gives you a hard edge, a shelf, and not much else. Standing timber shows when the level drops, and fish sit against it. Nearby survey and observation records mention bluegill, chain pickerel and redbreast sunfish. Use it to know what is possible here, not what is certain. Lake Brooks gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Between January at about 42°F and July at about 79°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Long warm spells define the calendar more than any cold. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. Lake Brooks runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
We hold no note on access for this one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Parkers Lake is 1.2 miles distant.
