Set in Meriwether County, Georgia, this is Adcock Lake. Height above sea level is 827 feet. At roughly 8 acres, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Meriwether County. Nearest town is Manchester, 8.5 miles off. Further out sit Sardis (13 miles) and Pine Mountain (14 miles). There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Held water runs deepest at the wall and shallows back to the inflow. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. Nearby survey and observation records mention blackbanded darter, bluegill and redbreast sunfish. The records cover the area rather than this water alone. At Adcock Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 79°F, while January sits near 44°F. Summer heat is the limit here, not winter cold. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer squeezes it into the edges of the day. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. It holds true on Adcock Lake more years than not.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Cane Creek Structure Number Two Lake at 2.4 miles is the sensible second choice. For Adcock Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
