However, some species such as a black grouper, sheepshead, red grouper, gag grouper, Florida pompano are best caught in winter months. Grouper, permit, mutton, tripletail, goliath grouper, yellowtail snapper, ladyfish, cobia and mangrove snapper are most active from summer to fall months.
