Stars out and no cloud tonight, with enough NE wind to stack food downwind and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lake Sylvan around reed fringes and open pockets. The day holds up well from night into morning. Work the productive water thoroughly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

You will find Lake Sylvan in Orange County, Florida. Salt water lies 31 miles off. Small at around 13 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Winter Park at 0.3 miles is the nearest place to stop. Maitland lies 2.7 miles off, Goldenrod another 2.9 miles. Being near a boundary, it pays to know which side you are fishing. It is easier to fish well than to fish quickly.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include bluegill, largemouth bass and redbreast sunfish. Presence in the area does not guarantee a fish on the day. On Lake Sylvan the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
In an average year July sits at 82°F and January at 60°F. The whole calendar is open, with dawn and dusk the productive hours in summer. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. The season on Lake Sylvan rarely departs from it.
No access rule appears in what we hold. The slipway at Dinky Dock Boat Ramp is half a mile away. The closest car park is half a mile away, so pack accordingly. A pier 0.9 miles from here gives a platform over deeper water. There are toilets half a mile off. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lake Mizell, 0.4 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lake Sylvan in what we hold.
