Broken cloud drifting past the moon tonight, with a consistent blow out of the NE and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lake Lowery should come off the calm side of the wind. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Polk County end of Florida holds Lake Lowery. Warm green lowland runs right down to the water. Roughly 893 acres of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. At about 4.9 miles of edge, most people work one arm at a time. On our Polk County list it sits near the top for size. Start from Haines City, 3.7 miles down the road. Lake Alfred follows at 3.9 miles, then Davenport at 5.1 miles. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth figures are not published for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Records collected within a few miles name black crappie, bluegill and bowfin. Treat it as evidence of what swims in the area. At Lake Lowery the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Expect July near 82°F and January near 60°F on the long-run figures. Summer is the season to work around, not winter. Shade and hour of day matter more than month. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. Lake Lowery runs to that rhythm year in and year out. The week either side of a change of season often fishes hardest.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. For the panfish, a small hook, a float and a piece of worm outfish everything fancy. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. The nearest alternative is Bonnet Lake, 1.4 miles out. Signs at Lake Lowery carry more weight than any list.
