Rain colouring the margins today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSE and steady pressure. Give the shallows early and the drop later the first hour at Bart Lake. The productive run goes morning through afternoon. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Bart Lake is a Juneau City and Borough water, Alaska side. The shore lies 1.7 miles out. Roughly 221 acres: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Around 2.5 miles of margin, front to back. Juneau at 16 miles is the nearest place to stop. Beyond it, Haines at 86 miles and Sitka at 95 miles. No boundary runs near, so the county rules hold throughout.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Across Juneau City and Borough, recorded fish include Chum salmon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon and pink salmon. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. On Bart Lake that means starting tight and working out.
The seasonal spread runs 24°F to 50°F. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Winter locks it down, and mid April brings it back. From about mid April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Plan any trip to Bart Lake around it.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Lake Dorothy at 1.7 miles is the nearest alternative. Signs at Bart Lake carry more weight than any list.
