Wet weather working through today, with a light SE breeze and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Seaforth Lake should be near sheltered bays and points. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast. A cold snap day, so work the warmest water you can find.

Look for Seaforth Lake in the Village of Teslin part of Yukon. It sits at 875 metres above sea level. The water covers some 82 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Shoreline length is close to 7.3 km, and each section fishes a little differently. Whitehorse lies 90 km from the water. It is 889 km to Anchorage, the nearest city. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Village of Teslin include Chinook salmon, lake whitefish, Arctic grayling and least cisco. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. At Seaforth Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate normals give 12°C for July and -19°C for January. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near mid May. The water is typically free of ice between mid May and late October. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Plan around that when you fish Seaforth Lake.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Summit Lake at 7.6 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Seaforth Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
