Flat light and a covered sky today, with almost no wind to speak of and pressure going nowhere. Activity on Orchie Lake should centre on the calm side of the wind. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

The Faro end of Yukon holds Orchie Lake. Elevation runs to 1,146 metres. It measures some 3.19 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. Shoreline length is close to 13 km, and each section fishes a little differently. For a base, Whitehorse sits 232 km out. The nearest city of size is Anchorage, 953 km away. Others close at hand: Weasel Lake sits 24 km out, Tay Lake at 27 km, Bede Luge' Lake sits 48 km out and Dragon Lake at 54 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Faro include Chinook salmon and Arctic grayling. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. On Orchie Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Temperature averages peak at 13°C in July and bottom out at -23°C in January. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid May. The season between ice runs from about mid May to mid October. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Orchie Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Weasel Lake, 24 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Orchie Lake locally before you travel.
