Soft grey light all day today, with a persistent wind from the S and pressure going nowhere. Meeting Lake should fish best around the shaded margin through bright spells today. A hard day on paper; the evening edges the rest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Spiritwood No. 496, Saskatchewan, is where Meeting Lake sits. The bank is 734 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to some 10.98 sq km, so a boat and a plan are both worth having. With 20 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. For a base, North Battleford sits 62 km out. It is 134 km to Saskatoon, the nearest city. The line between counties passes nearby, which can change who manages the water.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Spiritwood No. 496: yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. At Meeting Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Climate averages put the opening at about late April and the closing near early November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Time your trip to Meeting Lake by conditions rather than dates.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. The nearest alternative is Scandinavian Lake, 18 km out. Rules at Meeting Lake are worth checking on the day.
