Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with air barely moving and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Arsenault Lake will be around reed fringes and open pockets. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Arsenault Lake is one of the Cole Bay waters in Saskatchewan. The water sits 466 metres up. Surface area runs to some 67.25 sq km, so a boat and a plan are both worth having. Points and inlets split the bank into distinct stretches. Supplies mean a trip to Buffalo Narrows, 85 km off. Saskatoon is the closest city, 352 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Across Cole Bay, recorded fish include logperch and northern pike. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. At Arsenault Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
The warmest month averages 17°C, the coldest about -18°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Arsenault Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Canoe Lake, 20 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Arsenault Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
