Solid cloud cover today, with a firm ESE blow and no real change in pressure. The water to cover at Achimoo Lake is reed fringes and open pockets. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. Bundle up; the fishing will be slow but not impossible.

Look for Achimoo Lake in the Stony Rapids part of Saskatchewan. Land around it is boreal forest. With some 84 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 4.7 km, and most of it is walkable. On size it sits at the modest end of our Stony Rapids list. 329 km away sits Fort Smith, the nearest town. Edmonton is the closest city, 774 km away. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Survey and observation records for Stony Rapids include cisco, northern pike, round whitefish and lake chub. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Achimoo Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -26°C on the long-run figures. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Once it clears, about mid May, the fishing comes on quickly. Expect the water usable from around mid May until roughly late October. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. The season on Achimoo Lake rarely departs from it.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Butler Lake at 9.3 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Achimoo Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
