Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Petit lac Danay around the calm side of the wind. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Set in Laurentides, Petit lac Danay is a Quebec water. The ground around here is lake country bush. This is a pocket water of some 3 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Laurentides list holds plenty of bigger water. Rivière-Rouge sits 47 km from the bank. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 141 km distant. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Public occurrence data for Laurentides names pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Petit lac Danay the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -15°C for January. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. The water is typically free of ice between late April and mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Expect Petit lac Danay to follow that timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Lac Danay is 0.4 km off. Nothing on Petit lac Danay should be assumed from this page alone.
