Dull, settled light over the water, with a faint SSW drift with a settled glass. Activity on Lac Zoe should centre on points where shallow meets deep. Not a day the forecast likes; the evening keeps a flicker of interest. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Zoe lies in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. It stands 640 metres above sea level. It runs to roughly 14 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. About 2.5 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Saint-Honoré is the closest place, 50 km off. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 62 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Lac Zoe decides where the fish sit.
Expect July near 15°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from mid May. Climate averages put the opening at about mid May and the closing near early November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Lac Zoe runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Parking is not close: 800 m from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Lac aux Moules is 0.5 km off. For Lac Zoe in particular, ask before you travel.
