Solid cloud cover today, with a faint SW drift with a settled glass. Fish at Lac Yam should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Look for Lac Yam in the Côte-Nord part of Quebec. Salt water lies 26 km off. Around 17 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The bank runs about 2.5 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Port-Cartier sits 33 km from here and is the nearest stop. Further out sit Saint-Alexandre (34 km) and Sept-Îles (70 km). This one is safely inside the county line.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Yam fishes better once you know its edges.
The range across the year is -16°C to 16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Yam.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Bill at 0.8 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Yam in what we hold.
