Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a faint SW drift with a settled glass. Whatever swims in Lac des Flyers should be near structure within a cast of the bank. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac des Flyers falls in Côte-Nord, part of Quebec. The water sits 238 metres up. With some 26 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Roughly 3.2 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. The closest town, Port-Cartier, is 32 km distant. Then Saint-Alexandre, 33 km, and Sept-Îles, 70 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Côte-Nord, recorded fish include logperch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac des Flyers gives up more to patience than to distance.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -16°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Expect Lac des Flyers to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. The nearest alternative is Lac des Chutes d'Aiguilles, 0.6 km out. Check the position on Lac des Flyers before loading the car.
