Broken cloud and shifting light today, with a faint SSE drift with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Vose are likely to sit near sheltered bays and points. If you must go, go in the morning. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Night
Lac Vose lies in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in Quebec. It sits at 367 metres above sea level. Roughly 11 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The edge runs 1.8 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Start from Rouyn-Noranda, 30 km down the road. Then Macamic, 33 km, and La Sarre, 45 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch and walleye among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Vose decides where the fish sit.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -18°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Expect Lac Vose to follow that timing.
Access is not recorded for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. If the gate is shut, Lac des Lucioles at 2.8 km is the nearest alternative. Where Lac Vose is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
