Solid cloud cover today, with light air out of the S and pressure sitting still. Lac Vix should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Outaouais, Quebec, is where Lac Vix sits. Pine and birch runs right down to the water. It is pond-in-a-field scale, with the far bank a short lob away. It is a small entry by Outaouais standards. The town to know is Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, 14 km out. For a city, Orléans is 76 km off. Close by you also have: Lac Omet at 0.4 km, Lac de la Sieste out at 0.4 km, Lac Pazy at 0.7 km, Petit lac du Corbeau out at 0.9 km and Lac Sor at 1 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Anyone new to Lac Vix should walk it once before setting up.
The warmest month averages 18°C, the coldest about -14°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lac Vix the same rules apply, with local timing.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Lac Omet is 0.4 km off. For Lac Vix, the notice at the access point is the final word.
