Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a light S breeze with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac Violetta should come off reed fringes and open pockets. Save your energy for the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Set in Mauricie, Quebec, this is Lac Violetta. The ground round it is northern bush. Around 38 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. There is roughly 4.5 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. It is among the larger waters listed here for Mauricie. Leblanc lies 28 km from the water. For a city, Saguenay is 215 km off. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Fish Lac Violetta where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -17°C in January. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. The season on Lac Violetta rarely departs from it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. For a change of water, Lac Feeder is 2.8 km distant. Rules at Lac Violetta are worth checking on the day.
