Showers crossing the water today, with an easy breeze from the SSE with a settled glass. Expect most activity at Lac Tuda around windblown banks where food collects. Quiet conditions all day, with the evening marginally better. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Tuda is one of the Côte-Nord listings for Quebec. The surface lies 420 metres up. It covers about 7 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Most waters listed here for Côte-Nord are larger. For supplies, Forestville is 117 km out. The big place round here is Saguenay, 138 km distant. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac Tuda a short move beats a long cast.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -19°C in January. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Plan around that when you fish Lac Tuda.
No access rule appears in what we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Should this one be busy, Lac Cru is 0.6 km off. Check the current arrangement for Lac Tuda.
