No direct sun expected today, with an easy breeze from the SSE with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Kilo should come off the first drop-off and weed lines. A slow day overall; the morning is the best of a quiet lot. Go lighter and slower than usual. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

In Quebec, Lac Kilo falls inside Côte-Nord. The surroundings are spruce and muskeg. You can fish the entire water from one spot if you pick it well. It is a small entry by Côte-Nord standards. Forestville sits 118 km from here and is the nearest stop. It is 139 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. The near bank of Lac Kilo is often the one people ignore.
Average temperature peaks around 16°C in July and bottoms out near -19°C in January. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Anyone fishing Lac Kilo regularly works to that calendar.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac Epic, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback.
