Dull, settled light over the water, with a gentle ripple from the S and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Tremblay will be around the first drop-off and weed lines. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

You will find Lac Tremblay in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The coast is 35 km away. This is sizeable water at about 1.76 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. Some 21 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. On our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list it sits near the top for size. Saint-Fulgence lies 50 km from the water. La Baie is 57 km away, with Saint-Honoré at 59 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. The near bank of Lac Tremblay is often the one people ignore.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 15°C, while January sits near -18°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from mid May. Averages place the thaw at mid May and the freeze at early November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Lac Tremblay runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac de la Tulipe at 1.6 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Lac Tremblay may have changed since it was mapped.
