Soft grey light all day today, with a light chop building from the S and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Tito will be around points where shallow meets deep. A hard day on paper; the evening edges the rest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Tito sits within Côte-Nord in Quebec. It stands 530 metres above sea level. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. On size it sits at the modest end of our Côte-Nord list. Some 116 km away sits Saint-Honoré, the nearest settlement. For a city, Saguenay is 127 km off. Neighbouring water: Lac Duncan just 0.5 km, Lac Grondin 1.4 km off, Lac Seraphin just 1.5 km, Lac Poudrier 1.9 km off and Lac Jeannette just 2.1 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. The county list is broader than any single water. At Lac Tito the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -19°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Ice-out usually falls in mid May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. In an average year the thaw lands around mid May and the freeze near mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Anyone fishing Lac Tito regularly works to that calendar.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Duncan at 0.5 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Tito for certain.
