Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a light chop building from the S and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Trudeau should be near structure within a cast of the bank. A grinding day likely, with the morning worth the effort if any is. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today.

Lac Trudeau is a Côte-Nord water, in Quebec. It lies 602 metres above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 5 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Côte-Nord list. Some 114 km away sits Saint-Honoré, the nearest settlement. The big place round here is Saguenay, 125 km distant. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Côte-Nord records list logperch among the fish reported. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. At Lac Trudeau light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Break-up comes around mid May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up sits around mid May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Trudeau.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Donalda at 0.4 km is the sensible second choice. Rules at Lac Trudeau are worth checking on the day.
