A rainy spell sitting over the area, with enough SSW wind to stack food downwind with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Thomas is the margins and the shelf beyond them. Plan around the stretch from the day. Change depth before you change anything else. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Quebec holds Lac Thomas, in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. The surface lies 455 metres up. This is a tiny water, and one quiet approach covers all of it. It is a small entry by Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean standards. Head to Métabetchouan, 24 km away, for anything you forgot. Desbiens is 30 km and Chambord 32 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Lac Thomas decides where the fish sit.
Averages move between -17°C in January and 17°C in July. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. On Lac Thomas the same rules apply, with local timing.
Public data does not answer the access question here. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac aux Lievres at 2.3 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Thomas, the notice at the access point is the final word.
