Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a busy SSW wind on the open water and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Jean should come off the calm side of the wind. A long productive spell runs the day. A careful, quiet approach will out-fish a busy one. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Henri, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Lac Jean are worth checking on the day.
