Damp, showery conditions today, with mild air moving in from the SSE and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Tetu should come off shallow cover and weed edges. A hard day on paper; the evening edges the rest. Lower the pace and stay patient. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

In Quebec, Lac Tetu falls inside Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. The surroundings are spruce and muskeg. It measures about 14 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Shoreline comes to about 1.9 km, small enough to learn in a day. Normandin sits 29 km from the bank. Albanel lies 34 km off, Saint-Félicien another 45 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. The near bank of Lac Tetu is often the one people ignore.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -18°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Expect Lac Tetu to follow that timing.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Failing this one, try Lac Marimont, 0.9 km away. Check the position on Lac Tetu before loading the car.
