A closed sky with even light today, with a mirror surface most of the day and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Tetu is points where shallow meets deep. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Tetu stands in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. It sits at 285 metres above sea level. With some 25 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. A shoreline of some 2.1 km keeps the choices simple. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Nord-du-Québec. The nearest place of any size is Matagami, 88 km away. Greater Sudbury is the closest city, 401 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Reported across Nord-du-Québec: Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Anyone new to Lac Tetu should walk it once before setting up.
The warm month here averages 16°C; the cold one sits at -19°C. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. That is the shape of the year on Lac Tetu.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Godbout, 3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac Tetu is worth confirming on the day.
