Dull, settled light over the water, with a faint SSE drift and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac Telliere should come off windblown banks where food collects. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Look for Lac Telliere in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. Around the bank it is northern bush. Roughly 10 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Shoreline comes to about 1.6 km, small enough to learn in a day. For a base, Normandin sits 63 km out. After that come Albanel at 66 km and Saint-Félicien at 79 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Anyone new to Lac Telliere should walk it once before setting up.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -19°C in January. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. The season on Lac Telliere rarely departs from it.
We hold no note on access for this one. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. For a change of water, Lac des Myriques is 1.6 km distant. For Lac Telliere in particular, ask before you travel.
