An unsettled, stormy sky today, with a mirror surface most of the day and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Tamise should hold close to inflow corners and shaded margins. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Lac Tamise sits within Outaouais in Quebec. Height above sea level is 384 metres. At roughly 3 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Our Outaouais list holds plenty of bigger water. Supplies mean a trip to Saint-Boniface, 89 km off. Maniwaki follows at 99 km, then Saint-Raphaël at 109 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Anyone new to Lac Tamise should walk it once before setting up.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -17°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Climate figures give an open season running early May to late November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Tamise.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Crillat, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Tamise, the notice at the access point is the final word.
